Tom Ford has since his return to design womenswear been keeping the private presentations restricted to a small amount of inside people, allowing no coverage whatsoever. Conflicting with the conventional way of reporting fashion trends, the shows created a huge buzz throughout the industry because of its exclusivity. And no one would become tired of the clothes until it was available on sale.
A previously secret location will be made public this season however, as Tom Ford is suprisingly enough listed on the official schedule of London Fashion Week to stage everything but a private show, including photographers and bloggers he had previously banished: “This is going to be for 500 to 1,000 people. Photographers, bloggers – a regular, real show,” said Ford. “I want to show in London because I now have 100 stores worldwide. The company has jumped and I can no longer service the stores by not showing. So I have to love it and embrace it.”, Tom Ford told NY Times.
