In 2009, the Vogue documentary The September Issue debuted in the US, depicting the hard work in putting together the magazine’s largest issue of the year and the thoughts of Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington. The documentary will have a sequel called In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye is set to broadcast on HBO on December 6.
But instead of illustrating the work at Vogue alone, the second documentary will put more focus on the contributing editors: “[The editors] have always been our secret weapon,” Anna Wintour said in a release. “So it seemed to me that we could celebrate Vogue, and also, at the same time, celebrate these great editors.” That is interviews with Anna Wintour herself and Grace Coddington of course, but also the likes of Diana Vreeland, Pally Mellen, Babs Simpson and Phyllis Posnick. Along with the editors, cover faces, photographers and designers will all make their apparences, everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Nicholas Ghesquière.
If you cannot wait for the film however, a book with the magazine’s most iconic photographs was released earlier this month.
