The June 2013 issue of American Vogue stars as according to rumours the very Kate Upton on the cover, marking the first model feature on the cover since Kate Moss’s in June 2011. Kate Upton has for the past two years been acclaimed as the girl of the moment, starting from being a swimsuit model only to become a high fashion model. She lately landed both British and Italian Vogue as well as Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue for the second time in a row. The cover story is shot by Mario Sorrenti in the secluded landscape of Uruguay at the hotel Fasano Las Piedras, where Kate Upton wears classic American looks styled by Tonne Goodman.

The June issue of Vogue UK with Kate Moss on the cover will for the first time enclose an additional issue called Miss Vogue featuring amongst other things a list of 21 girls under the age of 21 with an admirable style. And who is not on the cover and on top of the list but Miss Cara Delevingne. Photographed by Angelo Pennetta, Cara shines in pretty pink of matching sequins in front of a wall of roses. The list also comprises name such as Karlie Kloss, Chloe Moretz and Charlotte Free.

Since Vogue has focused more and more on celebrity instead of model, and commercial in contrast to high fashion, the covers have reflected just that. But lately there has been a feeling of reversion for the venerable magazine, and the May cover is a proof of that with it´s attitude and bold layout & colour choices. Both Edie Campbell and Karen Elson are wearing Ermanno Scervino, portrayed casually by Steven Meisel.

For the latest issue of Wall Street Journal fashion journalist Lynn Yaeger visited the apartment of Paris based designer Rick Owens and his wife Michele Lamy just after fashion week for a house tour and a talk. The whole building was empty for 20 years before they moved in in 2004, and although going through a few restorations, they still managed to keep the industrial feel of it. It is interesting how the core aesthetics of Rick Owens so much rhymes with the idea of the apartment, the raw elements of concrete and visible pipes that however is constructed beautifully and/or glamorised with his own crafted furniture of wood and marble as well as the expensive fur from his HUN line, that are all part of Rick Owens’, what he calls it, couture.

For the latest issue of Dazed and Confused called the Tribes Issue, Jeff Bark shot the cover story starring Catherine McNeil as the centre of a hedonistic feast is wearing Chanel couture styled by Robbie Spencer, and joined by a cast of other models. Divine comedy, as the story is called find its inspiration in the medieval times however glamorous with a decadent scenery to really capture a sense of carelessness.
