Alexander Wang, Nicholas Ghesquiére & Hedi Slimane

This might have been the most revolutionary year in fashion for quite a while. The main designers for Jil Sander and YSL where let go, YSL became Saint Laurent Paris after the power shifted over to Hedi Slimane, Dior got hold of a new designer which was very much necessary, and Nicholas Guesquiére quit Balenciaga and the brand gave the throne to Alexander Wang. The times they are a changin!

& Other Stories

H&M is a whole industry in itself, and when news reported that a new label was in the making, – nobody was surprised. They have managed to exceed our expectations with the small parts of info and photos we have from the pieces of the first collection, and we really look forward to see what & Other Stories has to offer!

Cara Delevigne by Tommy Ton

We have seen her everywhere this year, the corky and equally gorgeous model Cara Delevigne. The x-large eyebrows, the wide grin and playfull personality, made her into this years most sought after model (and the streetstyle photographers did their part too).

Victorias big Secret

Three stunning swedish girls, Elsa Hosk, Dorothea Barth Jörgensen and Frida Gustavsson walked the Victorias Secret fashion show this year, that must be some sort of record? Unfortunately this was a bit overshadowed by the distorted view of Native American women V S sent down the runway (distorted view of women in general, some say). They manage to cut Karlie Kloss out of the tv-show, but people all over the world had already reacted to the photos. Go sweden though!

Brad Pitt for Chanel

Brad Pitts commercial for Chanels NO 5 raises a lot of questions such as, has he lost his good looks? Is that wrinkles? And how can they publish this? From a feminists point of view this debate is much appreciated since it balances out all things ever said of women, beauty and age (even if it´s just a tiny bit more equalized by now). But still, we don´t like the campaign. Don´t like the styling. Not the monologue. Don´t like any of it actually…

Avicci for Ralph Lauren

Swedish DJ Tim, a.k.a Avicii, fronted Ralph Lauren denim & supply campaign that was up on billboards all over the world. That was… quite the surprise, to say the least. We love a good surprise though. Fashion is never as boring as when it is predictable.
